International Soccer Travel

An opportunity to travel and play abroad is an excellent chance for soccer players to train for a bigger stage, compete against new competition, bond as a team, and learn about a culture different from their own. Potomac Soccer Association aims to provide high-level training to benefit and enhance the development of players at all levels. Through travel to Europe, players engage in a level of competition not found in the U.S. as well as learn a different style of play. All tours will include training sessions, match play against top academy teams, stadium tours, and attendance at professional matches. Players also mingle with their opponents at pre-game and post-game socials, try new food, see new sights and bond with their teammates. Tour will take place in April of 2020. Here are some testimonials from current WorldStrides Excel partners:

“I was honored and humbled to have represented MSYSA and accompany the 2003 ODP Boys on their recent trip to Scotland. The boys traveled well, adjusted quickly to the new culture and soaked up the amazing soccer atmosphere. They were a very close group that worked hard at training every day, responded to Coach Prachar and rose to the challenges of the soccer at the friendly matches. WorldStrides Excel and our very experienced tour manager had planned every detail which made for a very successful trip. Players and parents alike all came back with new friends and lots of memories that will be with all of us for the rest of our lives.” – Laurie Lane, Board of Directors, MSYSA

“Working with WorldStrides Excel has been a pleasure for me and our state association. From the preplanning, actual tour adventures and post debriefings, I have always felt that our relationship with WorldStrides Excel has been an awesome experience in every facet of world travel. I'm always excited for the kids traveling to the European destinations and coming back with a lifetime of soccer memories.”Mark Cantor, President, MSYSA

“I had an amazing experience, and feel like we had the perfect mix of soccer and taking in the sites and culture that Scotland has to offer. We had two guides that we're passionate about the country and encouraged the players and adults to make the most out of the tour. The games were competitive and allowed our boys to see firsthand how the international game is played. Even if they don't realize it right away, this tour was a great learning experience for all of our boys.” – Marcus Barr, EPYSA

"Our tour was spectacular from start to finish. The opportunity to train, play, and experience Barcelona is something that will not soon be forgotten. The cultural influences we encountered will be lasting and the memories will last a lifetime." Mark Biagi, AYSA

“Absolutely phenomenal trip - surpassed all my expectations.” – Denise Churchill, STYSA
