USSF Development Academy Program

PotomacSoccer establishes USSFDevelopmentAcademy program

Potomac Soccer has been solicited and accepted by USSF and has established a Development Academy for boys effective immediately.  Potomac Soccer will form 2 academy teams for the upcoming seasonal year in the specified age groups of the program.  There will be 2 teams this upcoming fall at U16 (born after 7/31/91) & U18 (born after 7/31/89).  
 
The U16 team will be coached by Georgetown University men’s assistant coach Josh Shapiro.  The U18 team will be coached by George Washington University men’s assistant coach Bryan Davis.  We are proud to have both USSF nationally licensed coaching professionals with these teams. 
 
Here are a few highlighted facts from the program:
 
*15-20 clubs will ultimately be named per region
*League schedule to play 2 games with each regional opponent
*Program to run Nov. 1 - June 30.  League games to begin late November
*Minimum 22 player roster
*18 players dressed per game
*7 substitutes per game with no re-entry
*Each rostered player must start minimum 30% of his team’s games
*no more than 1 game per day is allowed.
*No state cup play or ODP participation is allowed. 
*Only exceptions allowed for players are High School and National Team duty
*Limited tournament participation by the team is allowed
