Josh Bonnin is currently on the Maryland ODP staff as the 1997 boys Assistant Coach, and is the Head Coach for the Potomac Rush U16 girls, MSI Panthers U11 boys, Potomac U10 boys, Brit-Am Soccer Academy and has served as an Assistant Coach on many premier level youth teams in the area. He is a member of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), holds a USSF C license and is expecting to complete his B course in the near future.
As a youth, Josh played soccer in the National Capital region for many prestigious clubs including Olney Soccer Club, Potomac Soccer Club, and Reston Soccer Club. During this time his teams won various competitions including NCSL Division 1, Potomac Memorial Day Tournament, Bethesda Thanksgiving Tournament, and competed for USYSA National Championships and SuperClubs National Championships. Playing alongside and against many current professional players such as Oguchi Onyewu and Landon Donovan, Josh was also 3-year varsity starter for Sherwood High School. Landing an athletic scholarship to Virginia Tech Josh played soccer for 2.5 years before having to retire due to injuries.
Josh has worked with and alongside various coaches in his coaching career including Jeff Rohrman, Steve Knapman, Todd Hitt, Glenn Cadenhead and Alan Kelly. His coaching philosophy is that of a teacher through the use of Guided Discovery. All teaching/coaching is done in the method of posing questions and problems for the students/players to overcome and learn from on their own merit. This philosophy includes the following:

- Endless communication between players/coach/parents
