U14 Potomac Rovers

The Potomac Soccer Association’s Rovers are all smiles after winning the U-13 2010 National Capitol Soccer League (NCSL) Division 1 Title.  The Rovers defeated Virginia State Cup Champion, Herndon Boca Juniors, 2-0 to clinch the NCSL Division I title in a highly contested season finale on Sunday, June 13th.  The Rovers scored two brilliant goals in the second half and held off the powerful Boca offense to secure the win.  Gage Rims and Greg Burnham connected on two beautiful headers in the back of the net, giving the Rovers a decisive lead.  Boca could not penetrate the Rovers strong defense, and Tyler Olmsted played flawlessly in goal.  Matthew Bautista set up the first goal with a gorgeous free kick, and Stephen Harlan made the assist for the second goal.  See video highlights below.

The Rovers credit their success to their superb coaches, former Head Coach Kert Mease (USSF "A" licensed coach) and new Head Coach, Freddy Llerena. They have led the team to numerous championships, including wins in the Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) 2009 Boys Shootout and the Bethesda Thanksgiving Tournament

The Rovers wil begin their fall 2010 season competing in the

OBGC Labor Day Tournament in Olney Maryland.
