Academy, coaching children from the ages of 3yrs -18yrs. He hold a USSF National C license, and an English FA (Level 1 & 2) certificate in coaching.
Alan’s philosophy for the development of 9-11year olds:
Development stage Enjoying Practice:
- Seasonal Programming (age and ability specific)
- Technical Development 40%; Tactical Development 20%; Physical Development 30%; Psychological 10%
- Technical Assessment spring/summer/fall (FA Soccer Star Challenge)
- Individual Goal’s - based on technical challenge results
- Rules & Discipline- Signed Player/Parent Code of Conduct
- Constant Comunication- Seasonal Evaluations and feedback Player/Parent/Coach Spring/Fall
- Winning is important but not as important as development!
Values - What coach needs from players:
- Respect: The players will show respect for the club and their team at all times.
- Focus: The players will focus on their own development and not the results positive/negative.
- Courtesy: Players will be courteous to all involved in the game.
- Honesty: Players must be honest with themselves and with their teammates.
- Commitment: The players must be commited to practice year round.
- Timekeeping: The players will strive to attend all practices and games on time for the benefit of the team.
- Enthusiasm: Players must have an enthusiasm for the game.
- Passion: The players must have a passion for the professional game and aspire to be their role models.
