Arnold Tarzy Honored
After serving as Club President for the past 13 years Arnold Tarzy stepped down from that position. At a meeting of the Club's membership Arnold addressed the membership and reflected on the many accomplishments of the Potomac Soccer Association. It is due to Arnold's tireless work that the Club is one of the oldest and most established soccer club in the area. The Potomac Soccer Association has been consistently in the top 20 clubs in the Nation. Our Potomac Memorial Day Tournament is considered one of the best tournaments in the country. Last year, the Potomac Soccer Association was offered the unique opportunity to be one of 64 clubs in the nation to be honored with two US Development Academy teams. We were offered these teams, because of the status of Potomac Soccer Association and Arnold's work on its behalf. In addition to the Academy teams, under Arnold's tenure we started a Youth Development Program. This has allowed the club to continue to grow. We now have a program to bring in the young teams, allow them to develop, and move towards the Academy teams as they get older. Both of these programs need to continue to grow and be supported. At the conclusion of Arnold's speech, the Potomac Soccer Association gave him a plaque in appreciation for his many years of contributions to the club. The Plaque said: ARNOLD TARZY With sincere appreciation for all your contributions and in recognition of your leadership as PRESIDENT 1995-2008
