PSA Coach and Players Named 2017 Fall All-Met




2017 Fall All-Met: Boys’ soccer first team, second team and honorable mentions

COACH OF THE YEAR

Guillermo Melendez, Bethesda-Chevy Chase (GU18 Blue Reign 00 - Assistant Coach)

In his eighth season with the Barons, Melendez organized a defense that did not allow a goal in 480 minutes of playoff soccer. With six straight shutouts, Bethesda-Chevy Chase (14-3-3) won the Maryland 4A state title to finish on top of The Post’s rankings this fall.

 

FIRST TEAM

Nico Kenary, D, Sr., Landon (BU19 Blue 99 – Coach Dylan Dempsey)
Three-year starter anchored a defense that posted 13 shutouts in 19 games and won the IAC title. Will play for Amherst.

 

Darius Siahpoosh, MF, Sr., Churchill (BU19 Blue 99 – Coach Dylan Dempsey)

Creative dribbler and finisher produced 22 goals and 11 assists in 13 games with four hat tricks.

 

SECOND TEAM

Paul Egan, MF, Sr., The Heights (BU19 Blue 99 – Coach Dylan Dempsey)

Garrett Lyons, MF, Sr., Georgetown Prep (BU19 Blue 99 – Coach Dylan Dempsey)
